Cal State LA has established multiple initiatives to address the needs of students struggling with food and housing security concerns. Food and housing insecurity can have a profound impact on the health and wellbeing of our students and, as a direct corollary, on their academic success. Cal State LA offers food security services, emergency housing, and financial assistance to support students’ progress toward graduation.
Students shouldn't have to stress over food security. The Food Pantry offers free groceries to currently enrolled Cal State LA students so they can concentrate on their studies.
CalFresh is a nutrition assistance program that helps low-income individuals and families buy the food they need. CalFresh dollars help stretch a tight food budget and help many people afford to incorporate healthy foods like fruits and vegetables into their diets. The Outreach Center assists enrolled students will the CalFresh application process.
Cal State LA offers financial and housing assistance to students who are facing an emergency situation or crisis, which directly affects the student's ability to continue and be successful in school.
